Breast Augmentation:

Full, shapely breasts can make any woman feel more feminine, beautiful and secure. Breast augmentation is a cosmetic procedure designed to increase and enhance the size and shape of a woman’s breast. The end result is a more curvaceous bustline and improved body proportion.

During this outpatient procedure an incision is made under the breast, around the nipple or under the arm, and a saline-filled implant is carefully inserted behind the breast tissue or below the pectoral muscles. The implant is inserted empty and filled after it is in place. Once the implant is properly positioned the incision is closed. The procedure is performed under anesthesia and takes one to two hours to complete. Once surgery is complete, gauze wrappings and dressings are applied and you will be fitted with a support bra.

During recovery, patients typically experience breast sensitivity, soreness, swelling and sometimes temporary decreased nipple sensation. However, most side effects subside as breasts heal (usually between three to six weeks), and you should be back to full activity within a few weeks.

Breast Lift:

Pregnancy, nursing, excessive weight loss or gain or the natural aging process can cause breasts to lose their natural elasticity. Breasts may begin to sag or hang. Breast lift can take years off your appearance by correcting a drooping bust line and restoring your curves to their youthful state.

During the procedure, excess skin and tissue are trimmed away and the bustline is tightened and lifted. Breast lift can also reduce the size of the areola. Remaining tissue and the nipples will be repositioned to create the most natural looking results. Risks include scarring, temporary bruising, swelling and loss of feeling in the breasts and nipples. Nonetheless, breast lift is considered a safe and effective procedure. The procedure takes two or more hours to complete and is often performed in conjunction with breast augmentation to increase both firmness and size.

Breast Reduction:

Neck and back pain, bra strap indentations on the shoulders and general discomfort are all unfortunate realities for women who have exceptionally large, heavy breasts. Oversized breasts can make a woman feel self-conscious and embarrassed as well as physically uncomfortable. Breast reduction is a procedure during which the breasts are made smaller, lighter and more proportionate to the body. Effective techniques for reduction include vertical reduction, inferior pedicle reduction and free-nipple reduction.

The breast reduction procedure begins with an incision which is made around the areola (the dark circle of skin surrounding the nipple) and below the natural curve of the breast. Next, excess fat, glandular tissue and skin are removed and the remaining skin is tightened around the newly contoured breast. Frequently uneven sized breasts can be made more symmetrical. The procedure may take up to three hours and is performed under anesthesia on an outpatient basis. Although there will likely be swelling, temporary bruising and some pain, these side effects diminish as the breasts heal.
